Dry Skincare Needs or Dehydration-
What's the Difference?

What are your dry skincare needs? Earlier I spoke about skin type and conditions.

When your skin is dry, it lacks sebum or oils. Dehydration on the other hand is a lack of water.

Dry (type) = lack of oil

Dehydrated (condition) = lack of water

How do you recognize your dry skincare needs? You'll recognize your skin may be dry if it feels tight, or look flaky. You may be prone to sensitivity and feel uncomfortable. Your pores will appear small and fine. It may be thinner in appearance. You are not prone to a lot of acne, though you may still have an occasional hormonal break-out.

My skin is both dry and dehydrated, and because I used to use the wrong products for years (before I went to school to become a Licensed Skin Care Specialist) it became sensitized. While I was younger, it wasn't as obvious to me, and it didn't feel tight or dry. As I started to age, and I understood my proper skin type, I started using the right products for me, and what a turn around! My skin's tightness is no longer an issue. My skin looks and feels fresh, radiant and hydrated!

Some times I still get flaky spots, but now combat them with the proper use of intelligent skincare. I can quickly turn it around, by using the right products for my skin.

Imagine, I'd been treating my skin incorrectly until I went through skin care school! Imagine all those years I could have saved myself trouble, if only I had analyzed my skin properly.

When you know what you're working with, it's easy to fix the problem!

While you may have dry skin, you may also have the condition of dehydrated skin as well. You were born with dry skin, meaning you don't produce a lot of oil (sebum), but you may have become dehydrated (lack of water) also.

Now that you've learned about dry skincare , is this your skin type? Great, if it is, head to the skin care product section of this website and find the best products to find skincare for dry skin.
