Facial Skincare Products Are the First Step in Your Routine

When looking at facial skincare products, you first need to decide what would work best for you and your skin type. You can find gel products, foaming products, as well as cleansing milks.

Cleansers work by removing dirt and debris. They break up the surface tension on the skin.

In your anti aging skincare quest, cleansing milks are an excellent choice for mature or dry skin. They have a milky and creamy texture, and they do not foam. They are very emollient.

Some people feel they aren't cleaning their skin if their cleanser doesn't foam. If you're stuck on foaming facial cleansers, remember that it isn't the foam that's cleansing your skin, but the ingredients in the product.

You can also find liquid gel facial cleansers. These tend to pump out of a bottle into your hand. No one type of cleanser is "the best". Find what works good for you based on great ingredients, and your skin type needs.

What about toner?

Toner is an optional step in your skincare routine. Most people don't need to use a toner. Basically, it removes the residue left over from your cleanser, and adjusts your pH of your skin. That will occur naturally, and if you rinse your skin well after cleansing it, you can skip a toner.

Some people like the refreshing step of a toner. If you're one of them, go ahead and use a toner.
