Laser Treatment for Rosacea

Laser treatment for Rosacea is something I've been tossing around. I finally decided to go ahead and start the process. I'm going to a doctor I know and trust, and wanted to wait until I wasn't going to be in the sun as often. I did a lot of traveling this summer, and spent a lot of time outdoors. Now that things have quieted down, it's the perfect time to start the laser treatment for Rosacea process.

We're looking at approximately 4-6 treatments in total. I thought this would be a great way to share before and after pictures, to help other Rosacea sufferers decide if this was a process they wanted to look into. I'm going approximately 4-6 weeks apart for the process.

While I've had Rosacea for almost 8 years now, recently I noticed it was more flared up than usual. I always get the flushing and bumps, but it's been progressing, and I've noticed my skin was having more problems and started to feel thicker. It was like I wanted to exfoliate more, but I knew that it was the Rosacea acting up.

One of the things with having my skincare license is that I still need to go to a doctor for laser treatments. My face is part of my calling card, so it's something that while I've been able to use mineral make-up to help, I'm ready to deal with this on the vascular level. The laser treatments help disintegrate the tiny blood vessels, and help with the appearance of my skin.

Please note that because this is a process that takes a couple of months, it will take awhile to see the full progress. This is not an overnight process, and is not a one time deal. It's multiple visits, and a slower process for the best effect.

As for the laser treatment for Rosacea itself, it wasn't painful. There was a little bit of discomfort, but nothing I couldn't sit through. The process itself moved along very quickly and only took minutes. I was in and out rather quickly.

Here are the before and after pictures from the first treatment. I'll continue to upload pictures as I continue with the process. My next treatment is in about 2 weeks.

This picture was taken after my first treatment, the redness fades:

I notice after the redness fades, I have less "bumps" during the first two weeks after. I look at my skin longer, wondering what it will look like after a few more treatments. My skin reacts nicely and heals quickly. The doctor says my skin looks like it will react very well to the treatments. I guess pictures and time will tell.

This picture was 2 weeks after my second treatment, the redness fades, but I had a crazy breakout directly after it:

Third laser treatment for Rosacea was this morning. This is what it looks like right after. It takes a few days, but the redness calms down pretty quickly. I'll continue posting pictures as I go. Remember, it's not an overnight, whoosh and it's gone process. It takes multiple treatments for the final outcome:

The tiny veins that were on my cheeks aren't as noticeable, and when my skin calms down, it has a more even tone to it. I'm still going through the process, so patience is key.
