Skincare Acne Tips
Here are some basic skincare acne tips to help you combat your adult acne. When you’re looking at acne treatments, there are three basic things you can look to: * Preventive or general acne skin care products * Over-the-counter, specialized acne skin care products * Prescription based acne skin care products Preventative treatments help you stop the promotion of acne. These are basic steps in your regular skincare regimen, but are targeted to tackle acne production. You’ll choose basic acne skin care products which help prevent the oil from getting trapped in pores, to help stop the growth of bacteria that leads to acne. Specialized acne skin care products are available over-the-counter. These products include topicals like vanishing creams which extract the extra oil from the skin. Most of these acne skin care products are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. You should start with a product that has lower concentration of benzoyl peroxide (e.g. 5%) and see how your skin responds to it, because it can be very drying. Alpha hydroxy acid are also popular ingredients in acne skin care products. You might have to try a few to see which your skin responds to the best. Prescription based acne skin care products can be given to you by a dermatologist. If you feel that the above mentioned products don't help you, set up an appointment with a dermatologist. They can prescribe products that include ointments or gels that can be applied to the area. You may even get an or oral antibiotic, in an extreme case.
